Vivienne felt called into Chaplaincy as her second career!
Having worked as a Chartered Physiotherapist in hospital and self-employed settings she always felt a yearning to come back into hospital working life.
She started as a Chaplaincy Volunteer in 2010 in Acute and Maternity wards. Then in 2015 she was appointed as Chaplain in the Cancer Centre at the City hospital as well as working one day a week in RJMS maternity.
In November 2018 she commenced some new challenges working in the Ulster hospital. So her week is made up of 1 Day RJMS, 2 Days UHD Maternity, 1 Day UHD Palliative Care, and ½ a day covering Methodist and Other denominations in UHD.
Vivienne loves a challenge. So recently when asked to provide Pastoral Support for staff in ED she readily embraced this as a 6 week trial.
“I am passionate about my faith in Jesus Christ and about Chaplaincy” she says, “and being part of a team is very important to me”.
Vivienne is very thankful for all the help she has had along the way in her journey into Chaplaincy.
“ I have had many opportunities to develop and grow as a Chaplain through NIHCA training and especially in Completing 3 Units of Clinical Pastoral Education”.
Vivienne and Lester have been members of Dundonald Elim since 2018 and despite Covid restrictions are enjoying meeting new people week by week.
Vivienne now looks forward to her eldest daughter making her a Grandparent very soon!
As well as another daughter getting married in 2023.
“I am so thankful for the supportive family I have and look forward to the latest challenge of being VP for Other denominations on the NIHCA Executive”.
