Training

- There is an annual training programme which is sent to every Chaplaincy Department.

- All courses are accredited by the UK Board of Healthcare Chaplaincy (UKBHC)


- Training will usually take the form of either one-day or two-day events. These will include time for learning, sharing and reflecting.

- Different venues will be used to accommodate chaplains in different parts of the country.

- Early booking is advised as places may be limited on some courses. Only those who have booked in time can be guaranteed free places.

- Training for all the above is only free to members of the NIHCA.

- NIHCA normally facilitates 1 unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) training each year.

- Supervisor and Student fees are paid by NIHCA for this course.

- Limited funding may be available to NIHCA members to undertake training offered by other organisations.

- Application should be made in writing to the Director of Training. Specified criteria will need to be met prior to agreement of funding. Please ask for a Grant Application Form.
